Trash-Free-Lunch Marathon

On Wednesday November 14th to Friday November 67th, the environmental club will have a table set up in the cafeteria where students can show club members their permanent lunch containers, permanent lunch bags and permanent water bottles. Students will then be given a raffle ticket in order to win a prize. All of the prizes are environmentally friendly or cruelty-free. Along with each prize there will be some facts to help educate the recipient. For example with the permanent water bottles, there will facts about how many disposable water bottles end up in landfills.

Wethersfield Recycles Day

To bring awareness to America Recycles Day on November 15th, the Town of Wethersfield will be rolling out recycling containers for the collection of beverage bottles and cans. The first container will be placed at Mikey’s Place, next to the gazebo, on Thursday, November 15th at 10:00 am. THE PUBLIC IS WELCOME! The new recycling program will involve locating recycling containers throughout the Town, e.g. Mill Woods, the Cove, and on school property. They will be a light blue container coupled with trash cans. Residents are encouraged to use these containers when disposing of plastic, can and glass containers. The Town of Wethersfield is proud to support recycling which will mean a decrease in the cost of the waste removal, as well as a cleaner environment!
